Senior Technology Architect

Location: London, Swindon, Northampton, or Bournemouth office

Hybrid working: 2 days on-site / 3 days remote

Reporting to the Director of Technology Strategy and Enterprise Architecture, this role ensures our enterprise technology solutions align with our strategic priorities.

As a Senior Technology Architect, you will embed the vision of the EA function, develop roadmaps for business, data, applications, and technology, and collaborate closely with Principle Architects and stakeholders to understand and influence our architecture landscape.

This is an excellent opportunity for an architect passionate about driving transformation through Enterprise Architecture models. You should be skilled at navigating across business domains and building effective relationships with CIO teams and architects.

Working hours are between 28-35 hours per week. The role requires at least two days per week at one of our offices, or 40% of your time if part-time, primarily based in London, Swindon, Bournemouth, or Northampton. Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Technology Architect, you will:

• Support Nationwide's business domains by understanding our data and technology ecosystem and designing fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Collaborate with Principle Architects to define target data and technology architectures adhering to our standards and policies.
• Present architectures at governance forums such as the Enterprise Architecture Board (EAB) and Technical Design Authorities (TDAs).
• Promote EA and Data methodologies, ensuring conformance to standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain architectural artifacts for community use.
• Engage with strategic vendors to influence their roadmaps and exploit their offerings.

About You

The minimum requirements include:

• Experience in large-scale transformation and integration projects involving SAP S4 HANA, Microsoft Azure, DataBricks, and API-led architectures.
• Knowledge of Cloud technologies and digital transformation initiatives.
• Proven experience as an architect, producing enterprise data and architecture artifacts.
• Experience deploying EA and Data frameworks supporting enterprise solutions.
• Background in strategic enterprise and data architecture transformations.
• Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to set and communicate a compelling architectural vision.
• Results-oriented with the ability to set and achieve ambitious goals.
