Job summary

Bain & Company is seeking a Technologist - Expert Senior Manager to scale a key capability within the Technology Insights Group. You will lead technically, shape executive conclusions, and work across private equity and general consulting teams globally, focusing on AI-enabled software and technology due diligence.

You’ll own the technical narrative, assess architecture and security, and translate findings into business implications. Travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industry experience with at least three years in leadership roles.
• Direct experience with AI-enabled software development lifecycles and AI in products/platforms.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, cloud/mobile, cybersecurity, data and analytics, and AI/ML tech.
• Experience assessing R&D organizations and software development practices, including CI/CD.
• Understanding of major software business applications (e-commerce, ERP, CRM, data warehousing) and emerging apps.
• Track record of leading and collaborating on strategic initiatives.
• Excellent communication to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical answer and shape executive-level conclusions and key assumptions.
• Evaluate technology capabilities against investment thesis and assess technical debt and architecture choices.
• Translate complex findings into a clear business impact and required investments.
• Serve as a senior technologist in client discussions and leadership reviews.
• Lead deep dives into critical topics using Bain's technologist network.
• Help win new work by shaping proposals and engagement approaches with technical credibility.
• Apply investment thesis to technology due diligence and translate assessments into business insights.
• Help develop TIG intellectual property and identify new opportunities for value creation.
• Share expertise with colleagues and mentor junior TIG team members.
