Thames Water in Esher is seeking a Senior Technician – Waste Water Treatment to manage three operating sites, perform routine and reactive maintenance, and ensure compliance with environmental permits. You will monitor the SCADA system, take samples, and drive improvements while prioritising health, safety and customer service.
The role requires strong teamwork, water-industry experience, and a proactive approach to fault finding.
As a senior member of the team, you will conduct a full range of monitoring, maintenance, operations and repair work across three sites on the wastewater treatment assets. This will include routine operational maintenance and cleaning tasks; maintaining a variety of records and reports related to wastewater system operations and operate computers for process control; and monitoring the SCADA system.
You will optimise processes to maximise efficiency and compliance. Taking the initiative to resolve process failures and manage asset maintenance and faults: directly or via escalation.
As a senior member of the team, you will also be expected to support and develop other team members.
Base location – Esher Sewage Treatment Works, with hybrid working at two other sites, Leatherhead and Weybridge.
Working hours – 36 hours Monday to Friday, with a 6‑weekly on‑call rota.
Salary – From £35,000 depending on skills and experience + additional payments for the 6‑weekly on‑call rota.
Van – You will be provided with a company van.
