Job summary

Ansible Motion invites a Senior Technician - Stock Control in Norwich to oversee day-to-day stores and warehouse operations, ensuring accurate receipt, storage and issue of materials for production and projects. Qualifications

  • Experience in warehouse or manufacturing stores and stock control.
  • Stock control and inventory management experience.
  • Goods-in/out and material handling experience.
  • Experience using ERP or stock management systems.
  • Understanding of stock traceability, labelling and storage.
  • IFS ERP experience
  • Senior stores/warehouse experience
  • Ability to guide and support colleagues
  • Current forklift licence
  • Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing or CI
  • Experience in engineering/technical manufacturing environments

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the stores and warehouse function.
  • Coordinate the stores team and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Receive, inspect and correctly store incoming materials and components.
  • Pick, issue and kit materials accurately for production and project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels and ERP transactions.
  • Carry out stock checks, investigate discrepancies and support audits.
  • Prepare goods for dispatch with correct packaging, labelling and documentation.
  • Maintain material traceability and effective storage practices.
  • Work with Production, Procurement and Supply Chain to ensure material availability.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised stores environment in line with 5S standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve stock control, material flow and warehouse efficiency.
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members

Description

Ansible Motion is a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulators used by some of the world's most recognised automotive, motorsport and autonomous vehicle organisations.

We are looking for a Senior Technician - Stock Control to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our stores function, ensuring materials are accurately received, stored, controlled and issued to support production and project requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced stores or warehouse professional to play a key role in supporting a highly technical manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will provide operational coordination and support to the stores team while helping to maintain accurate stock records, efficient material flow and warehouse best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the stores and warehouse function
  • Support and coordinate the stores team, ensuring workloads and priorities are effectively managed
  • Receive, inspect and correctly store incoming materials and components
  • Pick, issue and kit materials accurately for production and project requirements
  • Maintain accurate stock levels and ERP transactions
  • Carry out stock checks, investigate discrepancies and support inventory audits

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Essential experience:

  • Previous experience within a warehouse, stores or manufacturing environment
  • Stock control and inventory management experience
  • Goods-in, goods-out and material handling experience
  • Experience using ERP or stock management systems
  • Understanding of stock traceability, labelling and storage requirements
  • Experience working alongside Production, Procurement or Supply Chain teams

Desirable experience:

  • IFS ERP experience
  • Previous senior stores or warehouse experience
  • Experience providing guidance and support to colleagues
  • Current forklift licence
  • Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement practices
  • Experience within an engineering or technical manufacturing environment
