With growing project deliverables and a strong growth strategy for Scotland, we currently have an opportunity for a Senior Technician (Renewables Energy Infrastructure) to join our team in Edinburgh.

Experience:

• Relevant work experience as a Junior Technician or equivalent;
• Knowledge and competence in AutoCAD and other relevant software packages.

Technical Attributes:

• Creating engineering drawings using AutoCAD
• Modeling and analyzing linear construction using Civils 3D
• Designing pipe networks, attenuation systems, and culverts
• Applying DMRB and local road standards for access solutions
• Producing engineering drawings, reports, and calculations

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Support design packages for renewable energy projects, including wind, transmission, and infrastructure access design
• Develop siting and routing options for planning and environmental assessments
• Design bridges and retaining structures considering structural and flooding factors
• Perform catchment and hydraulic assessments, including authorizations
• Design sustainable drainage systems and liaise with statutory bodies
• Develop highway design concepts, including geometry, drainage, and signage
• Assist in preparing tender documents and as-built records
• Identify hazards throughout the project lifecycle and collaborate with the team to mitigate risks
• Act as a client liaison for work packages and participate in meetings
• Implement quality processes and support financial targets
• Seek guidance and develop technical presentation skills
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications:

• HND or HNC in Civil Engineering or similar
• BTEC or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related discipline, or working towards such qualifications
