Job summary

ATG Entertainment seeks a Deputy Technical Manager to lead a busy technical team at Milton Keynes Theatre. You will assist the Technical Manager with productions, costings, staffing, fit ups and get outs while maintaining high safety and presentation standards.

You will require extensive stagecraft experience in large-scale receiving theatre operations, including counterweight flying systems, with additional skills in Sound, AV and LX preferred. Office and manual duties require physical stamina.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in large-scale productions at a premier receiving venue.
• General certificate in Maths and English.
• Experience in leading teams.
• Knowledge of theatre safety legislation and safe systems.
• Excellent written and oral communication; strong planning skills.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Ability to work under pressure with autonomy.
• Ability to lead and implement systems and procedures.
• Flexible working pattern; able to work at height.

Responsibilities

• Ensure departmental interaction with Visiting Companies is efficient and professional.
• Oversee get-in, fit-up and get-out with Health & Safety compliance.
• Maintain equipment and complete annual testing within budget.
• Act as venue Risk Champion within the technical department.
• Represent the technical department at venue management meetings.
• Lead regular departmental meetings to communicate company information and goals.
• Initiate projects to future-proof the venue.
• Lead training for wider teams and recruit casual staff.
• Occasionally work at other ATG venues.
• Deputise for the Technical Manager as needed.
