Job summary

ActAI in Greater London is seeking a Senior Technical Recruiter to independently own difficult technical searches and hire exceptional engineering and AI talent for ActAI globally.

You will lead end-to-end searches across AI/ML, backend, frontend, mobile, and infrastructure; build talent maps; headhunt passive candidates; assess deep technical profiles and partner with engineering leaders to calibrate hiring bars and interview processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of recruiting experience, with software engineering hires.
• Proven ability to headhunt passive candidates independently.
• Strong sourcing across LinkedIn and relevant platforms.
• Ability to advise hiring managers using evidence from the talent market.

Responsibilities

• Own technical searches end-to-end across AI/ML, backend, frontend, mobile, infrastructure and engineering leadership.
• Build talent maps and sourcing strategies for difficult searches across AI startups, technology companies, research organisations and technical communities.
• Personally identify and headhunt high-quality passive candidates rather than depending on inbound applications.
• Assess technical profiles deeply enough to understand what candidates actually built, their individual contribution and relevance to ActAI.
• Partner directly with engineering leaders to calibrate hiring bars, refine target profiles and improve interview processes.
• Manage and close senior candidates through compensation discussions, competing offers and other complex situations.
• Use recruiting data and market feedback to identify pipeline problems and continuously improve search strategy and conversion.

About the Role

As a Senior Technical Recruiter, you will independently own difficult technical searches and hire exceptional engineering and AI talent for ActAI globally.

What You Will Be Doing

• Own technical searches end-to-end across AI/ML, backend, frontend, mobile, infrastructure and engineering leadership.
• Build talent maps and sourcing strategies for difficult searches across leading AI startups, technology companies, research organisations and technical communities.
• Personally identify and headhunt high-quality passive candidates rather than depending on inbound applications.
• Assess technical profiles deeply enough to understand what candidates actually built, their individual contribution and relevance to ActAI.
• Partner directly with engineering leaders to calibrate hiring bars, refine target profiles and improve interview processes.
• Manage and close senior candidates through compensation discussions, competing offers and other complex situations.
• Use recruiting data and market feedback to identify pipeline problems and continuously improve search strategy and conversion.

What You Will Need

• 5+ years of recruiting experience, with substantial experience hiring software engineers and other technical talent.
• Strong track record of independently delivering difficult technical hires through proactive headhunting.
• Good understanding of software engineering disciplines and the ability to evaluate technical profiles beyond company, title and keywords.
• Strong sourcing capability across LinkedIn and other relevant platforms, communities and networks.
• Ability to advise hiring managers using evidence from the talent market rather than simply executing requests.
• Strong candidate management, negotiation and closing skills.
• High ownership, judgement and execution speed.

Nice to Have

• Experience recruiting AI/ML engineers, researchers, distributed systems engineers or senior technical leaders.
• Experience hiring internationally across multiple technical talent markets.
• Experience recruiting for an early-stage AI or technology company.
