We’re looking for a confident, strategic thinker with deep technical property underwriting expertise to join our Chief Underwriting Office within Commercial Lines . If you’re passionate about tackling emerging risks, influencing underwriting strategy, and supporting profitable growth – this could be your next big move.
A bit about the job :
This is a high-impact role that spans our entire commercial portfolio, including Digital, Schemes, Mid-Market, and Global Corporate & Specialty. You’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering our underwriting strategy, ensuring we stay ahead of the evolving needs of our customers and the risks they face.
As a senior technical expert, you’ll define risk acceptance criteria, support the underwriting of complex risks, and help strengthen technical capability across the team. You’ll also contribute to the development of market-leading products and policy wordings, while identifying opportunities and mitigating risks through the review of technical and legal developments.
In addition, you’ll act as a key representative of the Property team, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the business and wider industry.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Strong technical Property underwriting experience, ideally including exposure to international risks ( i.e. EEA or Global markets ) , a solid understanding ofLloyd’s market practicesor direct experience working within aLloyd’s syndicate
St rategic mindset with the ability to assess long-term risk trends
Experie nce influencing underwriting strategy and delivering business-critical projects
Confident communicator with a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement
ACII qualified (or working towards it)
