Job summary

IonQ in Oxford and the US is seeking a Staff Technical Programme Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of the Systems Software roadmap across several concurrent programmes, coordinating five engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders. You will ensure efficient capacity planning, manage risks, and maintain alignment with hardware and software milestones.

Qualifications

Significant experience running technical programmes across multiple software teams.
Ability to discuss scope and trade-offs directly with engineering leads.
Track record of leading teams through ambiguity and creating initial project plans.
Experience with software that works closely with hardware (labs, robotics, aerospace, or scientific instruments) preferred.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end delivery of the Systems Software roadmap across several concurrent programmes.
Coordinate with hardware, science and systems integration teams and engineering leadership.
Identify risks and blockers early and drive resolution with teams.
Run intake/triage to ensure requests reach the right team with proper priority.
Write concise status updates for programme directors and senior leadership.
