Job summary

1st Central is seeking an experienced Technical Pricing Manager to lead a specialist pricing team. The role focuses on driving burn cost models, pricing structures and data-led solutions to support profitable growth and customer fairness.

The role blends hands-on technical pricing with leadership, project delivery and stakeholder engagement, across pricing, underwriting and analytics, with a flexible hybrid working model based in Manchester and nearby hubs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in motor insurance pricing and burn cost modelling.
• Strong skills in predictive analytics, ML or statistical modelling.
• Experience with pricing data platforms and tooling.
• Excellent leadership and ability to coach, delegate and prioritise.
• Strong stakeholder management across pricing, underwriting, claims and finance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a Technical Pricing team.
• Develop robust burn cost models and pricing structures.
• Deliver data-led pricing solutions aligned to business objectives.
• Engage with stakeholders across pricing, underwriting and analytics.
• Ensure governance, documentation and controls for pricing work.
