Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment Ltd. is recruiting for a Senior Technical Manager in Slough, UK. You will act as the senior technical authority on site, owning food safety, quality, legality and compliance, and collaborating with Operations to maintain and improve site standards.

You will lead the technical agenda, develop teams, and partner with Operations to ensure standards are delivered on the factory floor, while driving a strong culture of food safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Technical management experience within chilled, high-care or short shelf-life food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of BRCGS and HACCP.
• Experience leading customer, BRCGS and third-party audits.
• Good knowledge of UK food safety legislation and compliance.
• Experience working with retailers or major foodservice customers.
• Strong leadership, influencing and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on approach and the confidence to challenge Operations when required.

Senior Technical Manager

Location: Slough

Sector: Food Manufacturing

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Technical Manager to join a successful and growing food manufacturer in Slough.

Acting as the senior technical authority on site, you'll take ownership of food safety, quality, legality and compliance, working closely with Operations to maintain and continuously improve site standards.

The Role

As Senior Technical Manager, you will:

• Lead the site's food safety, quality and technical compliance agenda.
• Own the FSQMS, BRCGS and HACCP systems.
• Lead external audits, customer visits and regulatory inspections.
• Oversee allergen management, microbiological standards, traceability and product safety.
• Manage technical incidents, complaints, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Drive a strong food safety and quality culture across the site.
• Develop and support the Technical and Quality teams.
• Partner with Operations to ensure standards are consistently delivered on the factory floor.

About You

I'm looking for an experienced food manufacturing Technical professional with:
