Job summary

ONE Consulting, a Northampton-based specialist in Automated Test Equipment and bespoke engineering solutions, seeks a Technical Director to lead the company’s technical direction. The role requires steering hardware, software and mechanical disciplines, translating customer requirements into practical, robust, commercially viable proposals and engineering solutions.

Office-based with travel to customer sites as required.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in Automated Test Equipment (ATE) with systems engineering across hardware, software and mechanics.
Proven ability to translate customer requirements into practical, commercially viable solutions.
Strong leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams and stakeholder management.
Excellent communication and project planning skills.

Responsibilities

Act as the ultimate technical authority for all ATE engineering activities.
Provide strategic technical leadership across hardware, software and mechanical design.
Translate customer requirements into robust technical solutions and support bids.
Liaise with customers throughout project lifecycles, in person or remotely.
Mentor engineering and project delivery teams to meet schedules.
Identify risks and drive mitigations early.
Support continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Collaborate with senior management on technology strategy.
