Job summary

A freelance Senior Technical Designer with expertise in SolidWorks is sought to support a Cardiff-based studio delivering brand experiences, bespoke installations, and commercial fit-outs. You will translate concepts into robust CAD models, technical packs, and fabrication drawings for manufacture and installation.

Key skills include SolidWorks, CAD, Fusion 360, and the Adobe Creative Suite, plus experience with 3D printing and rendering.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of SolidWorks, CAD, Fusion 360, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with 3D printing and rendering software such as Cinema 4D or KeyShot.
• Strong understanding of tooling, machining, fabrication, and materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine concepts from initial ideas through to technical detail, CAD development, and presentation.
• Collaborate with project management, design, and fabrication teams to optimise processes.
• Oversee prototyping, testing, and production across live projects.
• Provide technical project management support throughout design, development and manufacture.
