Job summary

Cavendish Professionals is seeking a Freelance Senior Technical Designer to join a creative fabrication studio specialising in brand experiences, bespoke installations, and retail environments. You will develop technical detail, CAD models, and technical drawings for manufacture, collaborating with design and fabrication teams to ensure high-quality delivery within schedules.

The role requires strong SolidWorks/Fusion 360 skills, experience with 3D printing and rendering, and a solid

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Senior Technical Designer or freelance designer in fabrication studios.
Excellent CAD modelling using SolidWorks and Fusion 360; able to produce detailed technical packs.
Strong knowledge of materials, tooling, machining, and manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with health & safety standards and best practices in studio environments.
Ability to interpret external sources into clear technical documentation and drawings.

Responsibilities

Develop technical detail from concepts through CAD development and presentation.
Collaborate with project management, design, and fabrication teams to optimise processes and delivery.
Oversee prototyping, testing, and production across live projects.
Provide technical project management support through design, development and manufacture.
Ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and suitable for manufacture and installation.
Mentor junior designers and support studio operations with safety and sustainability practices.
