Job summary

Cavendish Professionals is seeking a Senior Technical Designer (Freelance) skilled with SolidWorks and CAD to lead technical development for brand experiences and bespoke fabrication. The role involves collaborating with design and fabrication teams, refining concepts, and delivering production-ready designs.

Experience with 3D rendering (Cinema 4D/KeyShot) and a strong grasp of manufacturing processes are essential. Candidates should emphasise safety and sustainable practices in every project.

Qualifications

• Proficient in SolidWorks, CAD, Fusion 360 and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with 3D printing and rendering software (Cinema 4D/KeyShot) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of tooling, machining, fabrication and materials.
• Good understanding of electrical/electronic systems is desirable.
• Ability to develop technical packs and documentation from external sources.
• Solid Health & Safety awareness and sustainable practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts from ideas to technical detail, CAD development and presentation.
• Collaborate with project management, design and fabrication teams to optimise delivery.
• Oversee prototyping, testing and production on live projects.
• Provide technical project management support across design, development and manufacture.
• Ensure designs are practical, cost-effective and manufacturable.
• Maintain Health & Safety, quality and sustainability across projects.
• Mentor junior designers and technical staff; support studio operations.
