Job summary

The BBC is seeking a Lead Technical Project Manager within Product Operations, Media Tech. This hybrid role in major UK BBC offices will lead the delivery of technical programmes, bringing teams together and ensuring outcomes on time, cost and quality.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across the BBC and external partners, applying appropriate delivery methods, managing risks and maintaining momentum to deliver high-impact digital services used by audiences.

Qualifications

• Proven team leadership experience.
• Experience delivering technical projects, portfolios or workstreams in an agile product-led organisation.
• Strong stakeholder management with clear communication.
• Confident planning, governance and reporting.
• Experience managing risks, issues, dependencies and priorities in complex environments.
• Collaborative leadership to create momentum and clarity.
• Experience of managing competitive procurement processes.
• Management of supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex large-scale technology projects, programmes or a portfolio with budgets up to £10 million.
• Deliver outputs, outcomes and benefits within time, cost and quality constraints.
• Apply the most appropriate project delivery methodology.
• Establish appropriate project governance with senior stakeholders.
• Maintain delivery momentum and manage issues, risks and dependencies.
• Ensure a clear delivery plan with deliverables defined against outcomes.
• Ensure plans are visible and understood by project teams, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Create a collaborative team environment with open communication and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate procurement documentation (RFPs, Supplier Briefs, Work Orders) with stakeholders.
• Ensure suppliers meet contractually agreed delivery milestones.
• Liaise with the 3rd Party Engagement team to align on governance and escalation pathways.
