Job summary

Recruitment South East seeks a Senior Technical Category Manager to lead category strategy across technically complex product portfolios. You will own roadmaps, drive lifecycle management, and partner with Engineering, R&D and Operations to deliver growth and innovation.

You will translate engineering concepts into commercial opportunities, collaborate with multi-site teams, and mentor category/product management colleagues to sharpen market impact.

Qualifications

• Proven Category Management and/or Product Management experience.
• Background in engineering, manufacturing, industrial, building services, electrical, mechanical or similarly technical sectors.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capability.
• Experience managing product portfolios, roadmaps and category strategies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into commercial opportunities.
• Experience operating within international or multi-site environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies across technically complex product portfolios.
• Own product roadmaps, portfolio optimisation, lifecycle management and growth planning.
• Analyse market trends, customer requirements and emerging technologies.
• Partner with Engineering, R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing teams.
• Build business cases for new product development and investment decisions.
• Drive pricing, margin improvement, market positioning and commercial performance.
• Lead product launch strategies and post-launch performance analysis.
• Provide technical and commercial leadership across international markets.
• Mentor and develop product and category management teams.
