Responsibilities

1. Author procedural art workflows that empower our art team to do amazing things.
2. Create and iterate on complex, well-optimized materials and shaders for high-value game characters, props, and environments.
3. Build sophisticated real-time visual effects with our art team by leveraging the latest approaches to performant real-time simulations for high-framerate games.
4. Identify and troubleshoot technical issues related to art asset creation and rendering optimization.
5. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in art and technology, and proactively identify opportunities for improving the visual quality and performance of our games.

Qualifications

1. 3+ years of experience as a Technical Artist in the video game industry.
2. Proficiency in industry-standard game art tools (Houdini, Substance, Blender, Maya).
3. Strong understanding of Unreal Engine and the art creation process, including modelling, texturing, lighting, and particle systems.
4. Some proficiency programming in C++.
5. Proficiency in shader/material development.
6. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
7. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently on assigned tasks.
8. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members.
