Job summary

The Scottish Government's Digital Architecture and Design division is seeking a Lead Technical Architect to lead design and review of new solutions, approve secure technical designs, and set the department's technical strategy across identity, cloud, integration and mobile services.

You will coach and mentor Technical Architects, collaborate with delivery teams, and contribute to governance and roadmaps while benefiting from flexible hybrid working and a strong Civil Service pension.

Qualifications

• Understanding complex technology landscapes across multi-project environments.
• Balancing conflicting requirements and guiding architectural decisions.
• Experience in HR activities including interviewing and performance assessment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and review of new solutions, evidencing Secure by Design and approving technical designs.
• Provide architectural leadership across the service lifecycle from discovery to assurance.
• Create optimal technical designs aligned with user needs, security and organisational objectives.
• Contribute to the department's technical strategy and roadmap within your area of expertise.
• Present technology recommendations to senior leaders.
