Job summary

Weareedenbrook is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Accountant to join our Ipswich team. You will support statutory accounts, develop technical accounting papers and advise on complex accounting matters across the business.

This role requires strong IFRS/FRS knowledge, insurance accounting expertise, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. You will interact with Group reporting and finance teams in a large, matrixed organisation.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant or equivalent through significant relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, FRS 101 and FRS 102.
• Experience with financial accounting, statutory reporting, audits and reconciliations.
• Insurance industry experience essential; understanding of insurance and reinsurance accounting.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support preparation of statutory financial accounts aligned to accounting standards and deadlines.
• Prepare technical accounting papers and input on key audit topics.
• Investigate and advise on new and emerging technical accounting issues.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and training to Finance and wider teams.
• Support independent reviews of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain financial controls and documentation.
• Build relationships across a complex organisation.
• Apply knowledge of insurance, reinsurance and investment accounting.
