Job summary

Pleckgate High School is seeking a Teaching Assistant Level 3 for maternity cover, 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:25-15:05, term time plus one week. The role supports pupils to achieve accelerated progress under the guidance of the class teacher.

Requirements include GCSEs in English and Maths (level 9–5) and Level 3 qualification; experience with EAL pupils and delivering targeted interventions is desirable. The school offers a supportive environment within a large community.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at level 9–5 are required.
• Child Care/NVQ or related education qualification at level 3 is desirable.
• Experience supporting children in educational settings is essential.
• Experience with EAL pupils and small-group interventions is valued.
• Experience administering and assessing routine tests.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher and HLTA in planning and assessment.
• Work with individuals or small groups to accelerate progress.
• Provide supervision and guidance during non-lesson activities.
• Collaborate with the teacher to adapt lesson plans as needed.
• Administer and assess routine tests to monitor pupil progress.
