Job summary

Salford City Council is seeking a high level teaching assistant to work across school classes, supporting teaching and learning and delivering targeted small-group interventions. You will assist with lesson planning, progress monitoring and safeguarding to help pupils achieve learning goals.

The role also involves covering across the school when needed, providing feedback to teachers and supporting ICT-enabled activities in a collaborative school environment.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or equivalent recognised by education authority.
• Experience supporting learning in classrooms and groups.
• Ability to plan, monitor and adapt activities to pupil needs.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning in classes
• Plan and prepare lessons when the class teacher is unavailable
• Deliver small group interventions to improve pupil outcomes
• Cover across the school when required
• Provide feedback on pupil progress to teachers
• Assist with behaviour management and safeguarding
• Maintain and update pupil records and learning evidence
• Support ICT use in learning activities
