What you’ll do

Your key accountabilities will include

  • Lead and develop a team of two, overseeing all aspects of Direct Tax compliance and reporting. Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of tax returns and year-end external reporting.
  • Provide expert tax advice to business units on commercial initiatives and international operations. Supporting the Group Head of Tax in managing tax strategy, risk, and team performance.
  • Drive the tax design and implementation of the S4 Hana system, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on Direct Tax, keeping the business informed of relevant developments.
  • Assist with tax forecasting, budgeting, and payment calculations.
  • Champion continuous improvement in tax processes and systems. Prepare board-level recommendations on tax issues and opportunities.

Who you are

Your skills and experience will include

  • Professional Qualifications: ACA, CTA, or ACCA qualified.
  • Experience: Strong UK tax knowledge, especially in compliance and consolidated reporting for listed groups.
  • Technical Skills: Solid accounting and tax provisioning knowledge; Proficiency in Excel and financial modelling; Familiarity with deferred tax principles and property tax considerations.
  • Communication: Able to present complex tax matters clearly and persuasively to stakeholders.
  • Systems Knowledge: Experience with tax and financial system setup is a plus (e.g., S4 Hana).
