Job summary

JGA Recruitment Group Ltd is recruiting a Senior Tax Associate in Belfast to join a growing private client tax team. You will prepare personal tax returns and computations, developing client relationships and portfolio management skills.

The role focuses on client service, tax compliance and collaborating across the team, with opportunities to expand knowledge of tax codes, rates and changes. Sponsorship is offered for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Studying towards or hold a relevant tax or accountancy qualification (ATT/CTA/ACA/ACCA/CA).
• Strong, relevant practical experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong, professional client relationships.
• Gather and review information required to complete tax returns.
• Respond confidently and promptly to client queries.
• Escalate more complex technical matters where appropriate.
• Manage workloads effectively and work within agreed budgets.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
• Prepare personal tax returns and computations for review.
• Complete tax returns and accounts covering employment and investment income.
• Assist with personal tax computations for HMRC submission.
• Develop knowledge across tax codes, rates and allowable expenditure.
• Liaise with HMRC on straightforward queries and repayment enquiries.
• Coach junior colleagues and take increasing responsibility for your portfolio.
• Collaborate with the wider team and meet chargeable time targets.
