Placements24 is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator for a well-established manufacturing firm in East London. You will manage and maintain critical network infrastructure and server environments, ensuring security, stability and performance across the organization.

Responsibilities include provisioning, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting, with opportunities for professional development within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or related field, or equivalent.
• 5+ years as Systems Administrator or Network Administrator.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux distributions.
• Proficiency with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Strong troubleshooting and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows and/or Linux server environments for performance and availability.
• Manage network infrastructure: routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Implement and maintain system security: patching, antivirus, and access controls.
• Perform regular backups and develop disaster recovery plans.
• Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues.
• Provide technical support for hardware, software, and networks.
• Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
