Job summary

MASS is seeking a Systems Engineer – Technical Capability Lead for Porton Down (SP4), a permanent, full-time role on-site with Dstl. You will act as the technical focal point for a DAS capability, coordinating with MOD stakeholders and industry partners to manage risks and deliver sound technical guidance.

The position requires travel within the UK and a strong background in complex defence or aerospace systems. A proactive approach to integration, testing and assurance will be key to success.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in systems engineering, integration, test and evaluation.
• Strong understanding of DAS systems and related subsystems.
• Experience with complex defence, aerospace or high-technology systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of your assigned capability, its architecture and interfaces.
• Review technical specifications, engineering documentation and test evidence.
• Collaborate with Dstl, industry suppliers and MOD stakeholders on developments and risks.
• Support platform integration, investigations and issue resolution.
• Contribute to laboratory testing, field trials and technical assurance activities.
• Assess system performance against requirements and operational needs.
• Prepare technical reports and briefings for stakeholders.
• Capture knowledge and lessons learned to support transfer.
