Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. in Brighton, UK, is seeking a Systems Engineer (Safety) to support the development, integration, and verification of complex aerospace systems.

You will embed safety considerations throughout the engineering lifecycle and collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to ensure robust, compliant solutions. The role requires experience in safety engineering and a degree in a related discipline (or equivalent).

Qualifications

• Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field with 6+ years in Aerospace/Defence.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum 10 years of related experience.
• Experience managing technical documentation and requirements.
• Understanding of lifecycle management and safety engineering concepts.
• Experience with safety standards such as ARP4754, ARP4761, MIL-STD-882, Def Stan 00-056.
• Proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and resolve complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage system requirements with traceability from customer needs to verification.
• Define system architecture and interfaces across mechanical, electrical, and software elements.
• Contribute to system integration, verification and validation activities.
• Participate in SRR, PDR, CDR and test readiness reviews.
• Maintain engineering documentation including requirements and verification plans.
• Support development of system safety artefacts per aerospace standards.
