Job summary

Ares Management is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Engineering Team. You’ll own end-to-end system deliveries to scale the firm across various business lines and help build core services powering the investment process.

This role suits a tech-focused firm and requires Rust and/or Python coding expertise. You will collaborate with Portfolio Management, Operations, and Compliance, and contribute to tooling, testing, and production support.

Qualifications

• Desire to work as part of a team with strong communication skills.
• Ability to write high quality Python code.
• C++ and/or Rust coding experience or active interest in Rust.
• Understanding of the importance of testing.
• Strong stakeholder management and business analysis.
• Ownership for the code you write.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end systems deliveries to scale the firm across business lines.
• Build core services powering the investment process (reference data, trade management, position management, compliance).
• Integrate core services with external parties such as middle office and fund administrators.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Management, Operations and Compliance and with Systems, Quantitative and Platform Infrastructure Engineers.
• Utilise the software development toolkit, build libraries, review and test code, and support production systems.
