Job summary

Ares Management Corporation is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Engineering Team in the UK. You will own end-to-end system deliveries to scale the firm across multiple business lines, building core services that support the firm-wide investment process using Python, C++, or Rust.

You will collaborate with Portfolio Management, Operations and Compliance, and the Systems/Platform Infra teams, contributing to reference data, trade management, and integration with external parties.

Qualifications

• Team player with strong communication skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and fixed income concepts.
• Ability to write high quality Python code.
• C++ and/or Rust coding experience is highly desirable.
• Understanding of testing and quality assurance.
• Strong stakeholder management and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end systems deliveries to scale the firm.
• Build core services for the investment process (reference data, trade management, position management, compliance).
• Integrate services with external parties (middle office, fund administrators).
• Collaborate with Portfolio Management, Operations, Compliance and Platform teams.
• Review and test code to defined software development standards.
• Provide production support for systems.
