Job summary

DCS Recruitment is helping a well-established engineering organisation in Hampshire, UK, to recruit a Senior Systems Engineer. The role involves working across the full engineering lifecycle on bespoke, high-performance systems used in offshore and subsea environments.

You will join a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, providing technical oversight, defining requirements with customers, and supporting system integration across hardware, firmware and software.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline (Systems, Electronics, Mechanical, Software, Communications or related field)
• Experience in systems engineering or complex product/project delivery
• Experience working with customers and stakeholders in technical environments
• Experience with fault finding, root cause analysis and problem-solving
• Experience with system integration and software-led systems
• Experience with CAD and project/task management tools (e.g. Jira)

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical development and delivery of complex, custom-built systems and instrumentation
• Provide technical oversight across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to delivery
• Work closely with internal teams and customers to define requirements and develop effective solutions
• Support bid activity, including technical proposals, planning and effort estimation
• Oversee system integration, verification and validation across hardware, firmware and software elements
• Ensure solutions meet customer specifications, compliance standards and commercial objectives
• Coordinate work across software, electronics, mechanical and systems engineering teams
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues at both subsystem and system level
• Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including specifications, reports and test records
• Identify and manage technical risks, providing updates to stakeholders
• Represent the engineering team in customer meetings, trials and technical discussions
• Support ongoing operations by providing technical expertise and engineering support
