Job summary

Leonardo is seeking a Senior/Principal Systems Engineer in Lincoln to lead full lifecycle MDS design and integration within the Integrated Mission Solutions team. You will shape requirements, perform detailed design, and drive test/acceptance in an Agile framework.

Role requires extensive experience in operational MDS and EW, with opportunities to mentor others and travel to engage with UK/overseas customers. Competitive salary with BPSS/National Vetting considerations.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in Operational MDS design and development.
Strong understanding of EW Operational Support (EWOS) and RF signal propagation.
Proven knowledge of passive/active EW sensor systems and emitter identification methods.
Experience conducting engineering gate reviews and producing traceable test evidence.
Familiarity with JEWOSC/MSC tool sets, data, and processes.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and apply systems engineering best practices across the full lifecycle.
Interpret radar emitter data and collaborate with EW specialists to refine requirements.
Support MDS production, verification, and validation to demonstrate compliance.
Produce technical documentation and present at engineering gate reviews.
Act as a focal point for MDS process adherence and team development.
Travel occasionally in the UK and overseas to engage with customers and partners.
