Job summary

Graphcore in Bristol is seeking engineers to help decide whether entire racks of machines are ready for production. You will design workloads, build experiments across large clusters, and interpret results to guide decisions about system reliability and performance.

This role blends systems engineering, measurement, and judgement across diverse workloads. You will work where the right answer isn’t obvious, contributing to measurement accuracy and decision-making in a fast-moving AI compute

Qualifications

• Significant practical software engineering experience across multiple projects.
• Experience in Linux-based environments, preferably with distributed or high-performance systems.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with automation and CI/CD systems (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Ability to design, implement, and run experiments producing meaningful results.
• Ability to interpret results and communicate findings clearly.
• Comfortable working where requirements are not fully defined.

Responsibilities

• Expand measurement coverage from small clusters to full racks.
• Design workloads that expose system behaviour.
• Build systems to run experiments across large clusters.
• Interpret results and define what 'good enough' looks like.
