Ultra Precision Control Systems in Cheltenham is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to lead the development of the next generation of Stores Ejection products. The role covers a diverse portfolio with a focus on Pneumatic systems for military applications, requiring rigorous systems engineering within a multi-disciplinary team.

Essential: minimum 5 years in systems engineering, an engineering or science degree, and exposure to electronic, software or mechanical development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in systems engineering.
• Engineering or science degree, preferably in systems engineering.
• Exposure to electronic, software or mechanical development.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Visio, Excel, Word).
• Knowledge of safety-critical development standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions for military aerospace using a systems engineering approach.
• Engage with customers to elicit stakeholder requirements.
• Translate customer requirements into realizable product requirements.
• Perform requirements-based verification and validation of product requirements.
• Produce interface control documents and system design documents.
• Control engineering changes throughout the lifecycle.
• Prepare technical proposals including estimations and presentations.
• Mentor other Systems Engineers within the project team.
