Job summary

EA First is recruiting on behalf of a Birmingham-based not-for-profit organisation for a Senior Systems Accountant on a 12-month fixed term contract. The role focuses on NetSuite Financials administration, governance, and reporting, with a strong emphasis on automation and data integrity.

You will collaborate with Finance, IT, and external software suppliers to deliver system enhancements, dashboards, and training, while leading projects and maintaining strong financial controls.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in a Systems Accountant or Finance Systems role.
  • Strong knowledge of NetSuite or another enterprise ERP system.
  • Experience delivering finance transformation and systems improvement projects.
  • Excellent understanding of financial accounting, management accounting, and financial controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and digital transformation.
  • Leadership experience, including coaching and developing colleagues.
  • Experience within the charity, public sector, or not-for-profit sector.
  • Knowledge of Power BI or other reporting and business intelligence tools.
  • Experience using AI-enabled finance technologies and automation solutions.

  • Acting as the organisation's finance systems expert, providing technical guidance and support.

  • Driving automation, digital transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Producing insightful dashboards and management information to support decision making.
  • Delivering training and ongoing support to finance system users.
  • Supervising and developing a Systems Finance Assistant.

Job description

We are working on behalf of a Birmingham based not-for-profit organisation to recruit an experienced Senior Systems Accountant on a 12 month fixed term contract basis. The role is paying £60,000-£65,000 per annum, plus hybrid working.

Our client is a well established, Birmingham based not-for-profit organisation that delivers a wide range of services supporting individuals and communities across the UK. You'll join a collaborative environment where technology and finance work closely together to support strategic decision making and long-term organisational success. As Senior Systems Accountant, you will be the subject matter expert for the organisation's finance systems, with responsibility for the ongoing development, optimisation, and governance of NetSuite Financials and associated reporting tools.

Working closely with Finance, IT, and external software suppliers, you'll identify opportunities to improve systems, automate processes, and enhance reporting capabilities while ensuring strong financial controls and high quality data.

Senior Systems Accountant:
  • 12 month fixed term contract.
  • Potential permanent opportunity at the end of the contract.
  • 37 hours per week.
  • 25 days annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays.
  • Hybrid working - a minimum of two days in the office per week (Birmingham City Centre based).
