Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Systemic Family Therapist to join the NHS Children and Young People’s Gender Service for the East of England. This permanent, full-time role focuses on delivering specialist systemic and family therapy for children and young people with complex mental health needs.

You will conduct psychosocial assessments, provide family therapy and group interventions, and work with multidisciplinary teams to maintain high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Eligible for UKCP registration as a family therapist.
• Post-qualification experience in systemic or family psychotherapy.
• Experience with children, adolescents and families facing mental health challenges.
• Capability to supervise other professionals and deliver training.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate high-quality psychosocial and systemic therapy services.
• Conduct complex assessments and formulate treatment plans.
• Provide family therapy, parental counselling and group interventions.
• Supervise systemic practitioners and other therapists.
• Develop clinical governance, supervision and CPD processes.
• Monitor outcomes and promote evidence-based practice.
• Support recruitment, staff development and standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families.
