Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a System Engineer/DevOps Engineer to contribute to design, build, and operate medium to large-scale Linux-based infrastructures supporting real-time development environments. Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• 5+ years' experience as a Linux/Windows/VMware/Solace systems engineer or DevOps in enterprise.
• IT lab administrator experience maintaining test environment health.
• Expert-level knowledge of Linux (RHEL 7.x/8.0), Windows Server 2008-2019, vSphere 6.x/7.x, Solace PubSub+.
• Solid understanding of RAID storage and TCP/IP networking.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning sessions with clients and teams to analyze requirements and provide design recommendations for complex systems.
• Define and design scope for each project with planning and architecture teams.
• Ensure alignment with IT long-term strategy and industry standards.
• Provide design recommendations and develop integration solutions including major enhancements.
• Modify existing software according to high-level specs and standards.
• Review effort for compliance with architecture standards.
• Develop cross-functional software systems using disciplined development processes.
• Perform unit testing and deploy cross-functional systems to meet client needs.
• Research new and emerging technologies.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to application teams.
• Stay current on multiple programming languages and software technologies.
• Handle firmware/OS upgrades, troubleshoot issues, and arrange hardware replacements for platforms like HPE Synergy.

These projects are technically demanding and operate in a highly engaging environment.We seek a System Engineer / DevOps Engineer to contribute to the analysis, definition, design, construction, testing, installation, and modification of medium to large-scale infrastructures. This role focuses on Linux-based engineering, automation, and virtualization solutions that support real-time development environments.

Responsibilities

• Participates in project planning sessions with clients, business analysts, and team members to analyzerequirements and provides design recommendations for complex systems.
• Works with project teams to define and design the scope for each project.
• Works closely with planning and technology architects to assure all systems are in line with IT longterm strategy.
• Provides design recommendations, develops application and custom integration solutions includingmajor enhancements and interfaces.
• Makes complex modifications to existing software applications in accordance with high-levelspecifications and industry standards.
• Reviews effort to ensure compliance to application architecture standards.
• Develops new cross-functional software systems using disciplined software development processes.

• Expert-level understanding of , Linux RHEL 7.x and 8.0, MS Windows server 2008 - 2019, Vsphere v6.x and 7.0, Solace PubSub+ and associated software
• Good knowledge of Windows and Linux-based hardware platforms (e.g., IBM, HP, Dell)
• Thorough understanding of the following knowledge areas: RAID storage, TCP/IP networking

Nice to have

• Experience with OS Deployment tools, Orchestration tools
• Experience with automation pipelines, scripts, and change processes
• Experience with HPE enterprise-class hardware (DL360 Gen9, Gen10), HPE c7000 blade chassis and Synergy frames hardware, Dell R6xx rackmoount servers, SAN design and usage, VMWare ESXi Server(vSphere) and Virtual Center (v6.x and 7.x), AWS EC2 images and Containers, Cloud Watch, Kubernetes, Route53 and/or Azure/GCP equivalent
• Active Directory design and administration.
• Effectively presents information for discussion with higher levels of the organization.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows and Linux-based hardware platforms (e.g., IBM, HP, Dell).
• Advanced knowledge of Windows and Linux-based scripting facilities.
• Perl, C, PHP, VBScript, or Python development skills desired.
• Experience with automation and orchestration specifically using RunDeck and HPE OneView/Image Streamer/Composer.
