Job summary

TTP Group in Melbourn, near Cambridge, seeks a Senior Electronic Engineer Consultant to lead the full product lifecycle of advanced surgical devices, from concept through to market readiness. This hands-on role requires deep electronics expertise, regulatory awareness and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams with clients.

You will mentor engineers, drive design, verification and transfer-to-manufacture activities, and contribute to business development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in electronic engineering within product development, ideally medical devices or regulated sectors.
• Ability to design complex electronics schematics and PCB layouts for analogue, digital and power circuitry in embedded systems.
• Strong track record of taking products from concept through development to manufacture.

Responsibilities

• Lead electronic engineering activity across the full product lifecycle, from concept through verification and transfer to manufacture.
• Translate client and clinical needs into engineering requirements for viable surgical technologies.
• Lead projects and workstreams, delivering electronics work packages with risk, cost and regulatory considerations.
• Define architectures and communicate complex topics clearly to teams, clients and stakeholders.
• Review project scope and provide guidance to strengthen technical quality and delivery.
• Support business development with technical and commercial input for proposals.
• Mentor junior engineers and build high-performing teams.
• Travel for in-person client meetings and engagements.
