Job summary

TTP plc is seeking an experienced Electronic Engineer Consultant to join a high-calibre team developing advanced surgical devices from concept to market readiness. This hands-on role requires deep electronics expertise, consultancy skills and commercial awareness to deliver robust products in a regulated environment.

You will lead projects, translate client needs into engineering requirements, and drive design, verification and transfer-to-manufacture across complex electronic systems for

Qualifications

• Min 10 years experience in electronic engineering within product development, ideally medical devices or regulated sector.
• Able to design complex electronics schematics and PCB layouts for analogue, digital and power circuitry for embedded systems, including high-speed digital designs.
• Proven ability to take complex products from concept through development and transfer-to-manufacture.
• Strong project management: requirements, planning, milestones, stakeholder communication, delivery.
• Commercial acumen: balance product value, manufacturability, cost, risk and client needs.
• Collaborative, proactive, with ownership in fast-moving teams.
• Experience with FPGA, digital electronics, and C/C++ in embedded or hardware domains is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead electronics activity across the full product lifecycle from concept to transfer to manufacture.
• Translate client and clinical needs into engineering requirements for sophisticated surgical technologies.
• Lead small/medium projects or workstreams, delivering electronics work packages with risk, cost, speed and quality in mind.
• Act as a technical authority, define architectures and communicate complex topics clearly to teams and clients.
• Review project scope and provide guidance to strengthen technical quality and delivery confidence.
• Support business development by contributing technical and costed proposals for programmes.
• Mentor engineers to grow and build high-performing project teams.
• Travel to client engagements as required.
