Job summary

Blue Triangle Limited is seeking a Senior Support Worker in Oban to deliver high-quality social care. The role includes deputising for the Service Manager, developing staff, managing rotas, and supervising teams to ensure consistent service delivery.

You will be part of a team focused on move-on planning, person-centered support, and delivering outcomes while upholding standards and policies. A commitment to ongoing professional development and SVQ qualifications is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervising and developing staff.
• Ability to supervise and manage service delivery.
• Competent with IT systems and record-keeping.
• Registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and willing to complete SVQ4.

Job description

Salary: £28,251 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time (35 hours per week)

As a Senior Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing the highest possible quality of social care support, which meets the needs of each person we support. You will identify, plan and facilitate support, enabling appropriate move-on options for the people we work with. How You’ll Support People to Thrive:

• Provide assistance to the Service Manager in the day to day delivery of the service, deputising where necessary.
• Promote and encourage the professional development of staff, including onboarding, supervision, core competencies, in-house training and external training.
• Ensure adequate staffing cover is provided for the service at all times by appropriate shift rotas and deployment of employees, both permanent and relief.
• Carry out effective and regular supervision with Support Workers.

• You demonstrate commitment and ability to undertake care practice in accordance with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) code of practice, National Care Standards, Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care and the Associations policies and procedures.
• You’re already registered with the Scottish Social Services Council, and hold a minimum of SCQF Level 7 (SVQ 3) in Social Care but willing to complete an SCQF Level 9 (SVQ4) as soon as possible and have experience of managing and motivating a team.
