Job summary

Priory in Wakefield is seeking a male Senior Support Worker to join our team at Woodhouse Cottage, providing residential support for adult males in a semi-rural setting.

You will supervise and develop others, deliver person-centred care, and work with qualified staff to implement care plans, ensuring wellbeing and dignity for residents.

This role requires previous senior support experience, strong leadership, and a flexible proactive approach to safeguarding and standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Support Worker or Senior Support Worker.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the delivery of person-centred care.

Woodhouse Cottage
£13.95 per hour
Full Time – 42 hours

Woodhouse Cottage has an opportunity for a male Senior Support Worker to join our team. Due to the requirements of our residents, we can only consider male candidates for this particular role.

Woodhouse Cottage is located in East Ardsley, in West Yorkshire. Our home offers residential support for six adult males, and they are cared for by a male-only team. This includes men with a learning disability and autistic men. We are in a semi-rural location, surrounded by beautiful countryside.

We can also support those who have mild to moderate behaviours that may challenge.

What you’ll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents

• Supervise and support the delivery of person-centred support and care
• Provide leadership during shifts, including handovers, role allocation, and effective communication.
• Ensure residents have person-centred plans in place and are supported to participate in meaningful activities.
• Deliver team supervisions and contribute to professional development.
• Administer medication safely and in line with procedures.
• Manage service users’ finances and contribute to budget management in accordance with policy.
• Complete and oversee accurate record-keeping, reporting, and compliance with legislation.
• Monitor and support team performance, addressing immediate operational issues as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date training and knowledge to ensure safe and effective practice.
