Job summary

NORWOOD is seeking a Senior Support Worker to provide person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities and autism in our Supported Living services in Greater London. You will help individuals live independently, participate in community activities, and achieve personal goals through partnerships, empowerment and PBS-informed practice.

Day-to-day responsibilities include tailoring support plans, assisting with daily living tasks, supporting with personal care, medication

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised support in line with individual support plans.
  • Enable people to maximise independence and participate in social, cultural, educational, and employment opportunities.
  • Support with personal care respectfully and maintain dignity at all times.
  • Assist with manual handling where required, including use of specialist equipment.
  • Administer medication safely in line with policy and training.
  • Contribute to Individual Learning Plans and life-long learning goals.
  • Support with domestic tasks including cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
  • Use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and non-aversive approaches to support individuals with complex behaviours.
  • Build positive relationships with families, advocates, and professionals.
  • Respond calmly and confidently in emergencies or challenging situations.

About the Role

We are looking for compassionate and committed Senior Support Worker to join our Supported Living services.

You will provide person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities and autism, enabling them to live full, independent lives as active members of the community. This role is about partnership, empowerment, and supporting people to achieve their goals in everyday life.

Your work will be guided by Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) principles and Norwood’s commitment to evidence-based practice, dignity, and inclusion.

This is meaningful, hands-on work where your impact is visible every day.

Your Day-to-Day
