About the Opportunity
Leader Recruitment Group is proud to collaborate with an established provider to recruit a dedicated Senior Support Worker for a new children's residential home in Stevenage. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team and play a key role in delivering exceptional care to young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) in a brand-new service.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to young people, promoting their emotional, social, and physical well-being.
Support the Home Manager and Deputy Manager in daily operations, ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards and safeguarding policies.
Supervise and mentor junior support workers, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans.
Manage challenging behaviours using a trauma-informed approach.
Maintain accurate records and support with administrative tasks as required.
Build trusting relationships with young people, families, and external professionals.
About You
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a children's residential care setting, ideally with EBD experience.
Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent, or willingness to work towards).
Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, and care standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach.
Ability to lead shifts and support a team effectively.
Experience in a senior or supervisory role within a children's home.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices.
