Job summary

Active Care Group in Kent's Hothfield Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre is seeking a Senior Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant to provide a safe, caring environment for adults with brain injury and complex needs. You will supervise care colleagues, help develop individual care plans, support daily living activities, and ensure safeguarding and GDPR standards are followed.

You will also coach staff, maintain accurate records, lead on activity planning, and work on a rota

Qualifications

• Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care (or equivalent) is essential; or willingness to work towards it.
• Experience supervising or guiding care staff, contributing to shift coordination and care planning while maintaining high standards.
• Experience with adults in residential, care, rehabilitation or supported living settings; complex needs or mental health conditions valuable.
• Experience in behaviour management and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), including de-escalation strategies.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding (Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act), GDPR, and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, caring environment for adults with brain injury and complex needs.
• Supervise care colleagues and delegate tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans; monitor progress.
• Ensure safeguarding, confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
