Ready for the next step in your social care career?

The Senior Support Worker Role at MacIntyre unlocks doors. It combines elements of the support worker role with those of a manager. Having a foot in both camps provides a unique insight into how we can improve.

You may feel nervous about taking the next step and wonder if you are ready? That is natural. Many of our senior team, including managers, specialists and directors found that making the move to a SSW role was the launch pad for their career.

You will be supporting some fantastic people, like Emily*, who loves getting stuck into a jigsaw puzzle, going out for lunch, listening to her favourite music and crafting. She would love someone who’s calm and patient to help her feel safe at night, so she's ready for the things she enjoys the next day.

You will check in regularly overnight to make sure Emily is settled and comfortable, and be there if she wakes up and needs a hand - whether that’s using the bathroom, having a warm drink, or just a reassuring chat. When it's quieter, you’ll help get the house ready for the morning, as you'll know the difference a fresh, welcoming space can make. If you're someone who’s passionate about people living the life they choose, we would love to hear from you.

The Senior Support Worker role unlocks doors:

  • New training courses that will add to your skillset.
  • New challenges and responsibilities that will grow your experience.
  • A determination to lead from the front will brush up your current talents.

If you enjoy support work you will probably find that mentoring and supporting less experienced colleagues can be very rewarding. As you grow into the role of SSW you will find being able to contribute more makes the role even more enjoyable. Fulfilling your passion for people with learning disabilities to live glorious ordinary lives.

You may already have ideas about how we could improve. We want to hear those ideas and support you to put them into practice.

If you think you would be a fantastic fit for this role then please do apply.

You must be a driver with a UK manual licence.
