Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire seeks a senior Service Improvement and Governance lead to oversee governance across Medical/Surgical acute services and lead a culture of continuous improvement.

The role requires collaboration with lead clinicians, senior managers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver targeted service improvements, enhance patient experience, and apply process mapping and statistical control techniques. NHS pension and development opportunities are offered.

The Role

To manage and lead Service Improvement and Governance compliance across Medical/Surgical services within the acute division. Working to embed a culture of continuous improvement. Integrating Governance development, implementation, monitoring and review as a service imperative.

In This Key Role, You Will
  • Manage change by liaising with key individuals at all levels of the organisation involved in service redesign, governance and improvement.
  • Understand fully progress with achieving local and national targets for the services. To include markers and direct service improvement initiatives to ensure attainment of these targets. This will involve working closely with appropriate individuals to obtain, review, interpret and report relevant data.
  • Work closely with all key stakeholders involved in planning, delivering, and developing Medical services to deliver significant improvements in services which are both clinically focused and patient driven. This will include multidisciplinary clinical teams, lead clinicians, local champions, and senior managers.
  • Manage improvements in patient and carer experience and the efficiency with which services operate by appropriately utilising service redesign techniques such as process mapping, demand and capacity, and statistical process control, whilst simultaneously embedding the use of these tools in the organisation.
What You’ll Bring
  • Educated to Degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
Experience
  • Significant experience of working within a clinical service at a senior level delivering service change.
  • Significant experience of working at a senior management level within the NHS.
