Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Senior Support Worker / Deputy Manager for a children’s residential home in Hinckley. You will lead care, build trusting relationships with young people, and support daily routines and care plans.

The role requires leadership, safeguarding knowledge, and a full UK driving licence, with DBS checks. The post offers a permanent, full-time arrangement in a supportive, family-run setting.

Qualifications

• NVQ/QCF Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare, or working towards.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting.
• Experience with ASC, mental health, emotional or behavioural needs.
• Solid safeguarding knowledge and childcare legislation.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Full UK driving licence and clean DBS (or willing to complete checks).

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a small team of Residential Support Workers to deliver care.
• Build positive relationships with young people to promote welfare and independence.
• Oversee daily routines, activities, appointments, and individualised support plans.
• Promote safeguarding, dignity and emotional wellbeing, while managing challenging behaviour.
• Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and multi-agency meetings.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation to support care and compliance.
