Map Room is proud to be supporting a Leading UK Life Sciences company to identify an exceptional Senior Supply Chain Manager to join their operation. Our client is dedicated to providing innovative solutions that transform human health. Our exceptional customers engage in life-saving endeavours, from fundamental biological research to pioneering vaccines, new medicines, and groundbreaking cell and gene therapies.

The Role.

As the Senior Manager of Supply Chain at the Discovery & Medical Newquay Manufacturing Site, you will lead a talented team of Supply Chain Planners, Buyers, and Warehouse associates in one of our global manufacturing locations. This site specialises in the high-volume production of medical filtration devices and membranes for the clients' Discovery & Medical portfolio.

In this role, you will optimise end-to-end Supply Chain performance, ensuring the availability and value of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. This encompasses purchasing, planning, and scheduling manufacturing cells in a high-volume, 24/7 operation within a regulated environment.

You will spearhead initiatives by applying structured methodologies for forecasting, demand and supply planning, Kanban raw material implementation and replenishment, inventory management, and guaranteeing finished goods availability. Central to your success will be identifying, prioritising, and addressing significant Supply Chain performance challenges.

As a core member of the Site Leadership team, you will partner with peers and functional leaders to support the Site Leader in driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Elevate Supply Chain KPIs (On-Time Delivery, Past Due, Inventory, Material Availability, and Warehouse performance) for products, leveraging structured data and expert application of systems to propel improvement initiatives throughout the site’s Supply Chain Team.

- Manage the Master Plan through the monthly S&OP process, integrating live sales data to craft a Firm Master Plan that drives Raw Material Requirements Planning and sustain Master Planning data for all SKUs in collaboration with the S&OP Lead.

- Cultivate relationships and improve communication channels with key upstream suppliers and downstream supply chain partners and stakeholders.

- Organise and lead the supply chain team to meet business demands, providing mentorship, coaching, and unwavering leadership. Champion Supply Chain initiatives in partnership with the site leadership team, passionately employing DBS tools and techniques.

- Ensure efficient warehouse operations, maintaining effective product flow in and out of the manufacturing plant while optimising working capital through DBS utilisation.

- Oversee the smooth transition of finished goods through downstream sterilisation, intermediate holding/release, and distribution to regional distribution centres.

- Foster excellent communication and teamwork between Supply Chain and Operations teams to ensure successful execution and fulfilment of plans for our customers.

- Guide teams in effectively navigating challenges and addressing supply risks related to raw materials, manufacturing execution, and finished goods distribution.

Experience and Qualifications

- You will possess a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business, supply chain, engineering, or scientific discipline, or have equivalent years of experience.

- You bring seven years of progressive operations or supply chain leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, ideally within Life Sciences or a similar regulated industry.

- You are a strong problem solver—able to tackle complex issues, communicate challenges, and propose solutions to both external customers and internal team members.
