Fortress Safety, part of Halma, is hiring a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer in Wolverhampton. This hybrid role leads the global supplier quality program, from evaluation and approval through risk management and continuous improvement, partnering with Procurement and internal QA teams.

You will drive supplier readiness for NPI, lead root-cause analyses, and support compliance audits while traveling as needed to sites in the UK and abroad.

Qualifications

• Experience leading supplier quality teams in a growth environment.
• Broad supplier and manufacturing quality expertise.
• Experience supporting customer and third‑party audits.
• Proven supplier risk assessment across multiple domains.
• Strong understanding of QMS/EMS and core tools (APQP/PPAP/MSA).
• Hands‑on electronics and mechanical manufacturing experience.

## **Senior Supplier Quality Engineer**## Salary: £45,000–£53,000## Location: Wolverhampton, WV4 6FB | Hybrid (3–4 days in the office)## Permanent, Full-time## ## **About the opportunity**Fortress Safety is looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to lead the development and performance of our global supply base. You'll report to the Head of Supply Chain.You'll own supplier quality and compliance from start to finish: supplier selection and approval, development, risk management and continuous improvement. We're part of Halma plc, a FTSE 100 company with over 8,000 employees across 50+ subsidiaries worldwide. ## **What you'll be doing*** Acting as the lead point of contact for supplier quality, working with our supplier quality team in China and our global internal quality team* Defining, putting in place and improving global supplier quality processes, including supplier evaluation, approval, NPI and change activities* Leading supplier issue resolution, from problem definition and containment through root cause analysis to corrective and preventive actions* Working closely with Procurement on strategy, category management and supplier relationships* Bringing new ideas to supplier risk assessment and mitigation* Supporting responsible sourcing and compliance, and helping manage supply shortages and disruption* Supporting new product introduction with supplier readiness and capability* Travelling in the UK and abroad as needed ## **What you'll bring***Must-have** Experience in a leading role developing supplier quality teams, ideally in a progressive or high-growth environment* Broad supplier and manufacturing quality expertise, including component engineering* Experience supporting customer and third-party audits (compliance, certification, management systems)* Proven supplier risk assessment across business, design, quality, manufacturing, testing and sustainability* A strong understanding of quality management systems (QMS/EMS) and core quality tools: APQP, PPAP, MSA and control plans* Hands-on experience in electronics and mechanical manufacturing, with strong problem-solving and failure analysis skills*Nice-to-have** Knowledge of mechanical commodities: castings, machining and plastics* Knowledge of electronics: PCBs, semiconductors and assemblies* Familiarity with assembly and test processes such as SMT and box build, plus traceability and ESD/IPC standards ## **What we offer*** 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays* Option to work a 9-day fortnight (compressed hours)* Pension with employer contributions of up to 10.5%* Company bonus scheme* Annual Halma share vesting scheme* Life assurance* Eyecare* Bike to work scheme* Airport parking discounts* Long service recognition ## **Inclusion and belonging**At Fortress, we don't just accept difference, we celebrate it.
