Job summary

Mitie Group plc. in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Supervisor to support the cleaning services within a fast-paced logistics and distribution environment. You will lead and develop the team, maintaining high standards of service and ensuring the site operates safely and efficiently.

You will coordinate and deliver required training, oversee inductions, and conduct site walks and weekly audits. You will support budget management and agreed performance targets, drive a positive safety

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience, ideally in cleaning, facilities management, or operational environments.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Good spoken and written English; may require an English assessment.
• DBS check and drug/alcohol screening may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the cleaning team to deliver high standards.
• Coordinate and deliver training and inductions for new and existing staff.
• Ensure designated areas meet agreed cleanliness standards and perform daily/weekly audits.
• Support budget management and performance targets; track progress and report variances.
• Promote a positive safety culture and ensure safe working practices.
• Build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and colleagues.

Salary: £15.38

Hours: 9hr shift (including 0.5 hr unpaid break) Flexi start/ finish times to business needs

Shift Pattern: 5 days out of 7

We're looking for an experienced Senior Supervisor to support the delivery of cleaning services within a fast-paced logistics and distribution environment. You'll play a key role in leading and developing the team, maintaining high standards of service, and ensuring the site operates safely and efficiently.

In this role, you will support the Site Manager in recruiting, leading, and developing the team. You will coordinate and deliver required training, ensure designated areas are maintained to agreed cleanliness standards, and oversee the completion of daily, weekly, and periodic tasks. You will conduct regular site walks and weekly audits, support budget management and agreed performance targets, ensure inductions are completed, and help implement development plans for team members. You will also support the management of disciplinary and grievance processes where required. A full working knowledge of cleaning equipment, materials, and approved chemicals is essential, and you will be expected to attend all necessary training to ensure their safe and effective use. You will promote a positive safety culture, encourage safe working practices, and build effective relationships with customers, stakeholders, and colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory experience, preferably within a cleaning, facilities management, or operational environment. You will possess strong leadership and communication skills, be organised, and be able to effectively manage priorities in a fast-paced environment. Good spoken and written English is essential, and you may be required to complete an English language assessment. The successful candidate will be required to complete a Basic Disclosure (DBS Check) and undergo a drug and alcohol screening test
