Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor within the cleaning and waste team. You will supervise equipment, cleaning practices, and chemical use, ensuring operations comply with health and safety standards.

Daily/weekly machinery checks, fault reporting, and coordinating with the Site Manager are key duties. The role requires prior supervisor experience, strong customer focus, organizational skills, and fluent English.

• Ability to prioritise workload and stay well organised.
• Good awareness of Health & Safety legislation is required.
• Communicative English is essential; an English assessment may be used.

Responsibilities

• Supervise/operate cleaning equipment and use of chemicals per guidelines.
• Carry out daily and weekly checks of machinery and report faults to the Site Manager.
• Ensure Health & Safety is understood and followed by the team.
• Liaise with the Site Manager on shift operation and waste monitoring.
• Keep equipment clean, secured when not in use, and support ad-hoc duties as needed.
• Address customer complaints and participate in training on safety and procedures.

Job description

Salary: £14.38 hour

Hours: 8 hours day 40 hours week

Shift Pattern: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, 5 on 2 off

Contract: Permanent

In your new role as Supervisor, you'll be working within a warehouse environment as part of our cleaning and waste team. You will supervise/operate specific equipment, cleaning practises and use of chemicals to the correct operational guidelines. Your duties will include carrying out daily and weekly checks of all machinery, reporting any faults to the Site Manager, ensuring that all Health & Safety is understood and adhered to, liaise with the Site Manager in shift operation, and help monitor the waste produced using the weekly checklists and monitoring procedures. All equipment will need to be reviewed, verifying that they are kept clean and equipment and materials are left secured when not in use. You will need to undertake any cleaning and ad-hoc duties according to the needs of the business, deal with customer complaints, attend appropriate training sessions, and ensure awareness of the Company/Client statutory fire and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have previous supervisor experience, good customer focus and service skills, the ability to prioritise workload effectively and good organisational skills. You should be able to work from your own initiative, have good awareness of Health and Safety legislation. Communicative English is essential, and you may be required to take an English language assessment. You will be required to complete the Basic Disclosure (DBS Check) and undertake a drug and alcohol screening test.
